Akae followed him, pulling her hood over her head. She isn't sure what to expect. Either something done over-the-top, or the opposite. Maybe 'quarters' is another word for 'prison cell' and their just going to keep them in a small room where we can't get out unless they let us. Akae considered the latter to be the most probable.

Rontin lead them through a series of passages, ending up in a quiet, third-floor offshoot. There was a wooden door on either side of the hall. Opening one, the Courier revealed medium sized room. Set into one wall was a stone fireplace, with logs set to one side. There were laterns that could be lit along the walls, but for now they sat cold, letting the light from the large window on one wall light the room. To either side of the window, green and blue curtains hung, ready to be pulled closed for privacy or to shut out light. The walls of the room were cool grey stone, the floor made of the same wood as the door, which hung on wrought-iron hinges and could be locked from within. A large, slightly worn green and yellow rug sat on the floor. In a corner, opposite the fireplace and the door and near the window, there was a comfortably sized wooden bed, with a matress and deep blue comforters and pillows. Near the bed stood a carved wooden wardrobe and a chest of drawers. Beneath the window, a small wooden desk and chair sat next to a fully stocked bookshelf. In front of the fireplace, there were a pair of comfy padded chairs. On the side of the bed closer to the fireplace, there was a small door.
"The room across the hall is identical, though the colors of the decor may vary slightly. The little door leads to fully equipped wash facilities. You'll have a few hours to get settled in. There should be fresh clothes in the wardrobe and drawers, should you require them. If you need anything, the palace staff will gladly oblige you. Now, if you will excuse me, I'll leave you to yourselves. I have other duties to which I must attend."

Akae didn't know what to make of it. She never had a room to herself; nor a room this big. She entered the first room, taking her hood off and placing it and her bow and arrows on the bed. She closed the curtains and lit the lanterns. She grabbed a book, not caring to read the title, and sat on the chair to start reading it.

Aldere's eyelids slowly flickered open. They drooped over her eyes, but she managed to stay awake now. She surveyed the situation. She didn't know where she was.
