(Then, Clover got shot an exploded into bits because the gong didn't go off yet.)

(("But LittleMiss said that after I post, the gong would go off," Comica Dreams said from inside the out-of-character brackets.))

As the gong rang, Fox made a bee-line for the Cornucopia, running low so she could quickly scoop up the pouch and daggers. She put most of them in the pouch as she ran, but kept the other one in her hand. She felt something skim her arm and realized something had almost hit her. Ignoring it, she ran until she was about 15 feet of the Cornucopia. There was a spear that she used to quickly kill someone else who was after it. She thought of getting more, but the stakes were high and she ran for the forest, with only the daggers and spear.

Selwyn jumped off of his platform, and grabbed the darts and the tube. He quickly ran for the Cornucopia, a small, sharp object narrowly missing his nose, and he ducked, as it appeared to be a deadly boomerang, and it shot over his head. He ran to the Cornucopia, and snatched up sword from the pile, and flung a water bottle into the woods, then quickly ran to retrieve it, safely away from the Cornucopia.

As the gong rang, Clover jumped off her platform and ran for the Cornucopia. An arrow came near her but she dodged it, and got closer to the Cornucopia. She then grabbed a water bottle and threw it towards the forest, and ran to retrieve it.

Selwyn saw another water bottle fly by him, and he decided to go after it. He ran after the water bottle, sword in hand, in case anything came near while he went after it.

Fox kept running until she reached a waterfall. No use going any farther. She looked in her pouch and saw something she didn't notice before; medicine that you're supposed to put on small wounds so they wouldn't get infected. There wasn't even that much of it and it also came with gauze. Well, it's better than just weapons. She thought to herself.

Selwyn picked up his pace. He saw someone's boot glimmer from behind a tree, the buckle around the leather reflected the light, and he caught the shine. He shot a dart in the direction of the boot, only to see a head hit the ground in front of the tree. Blood trickled out of the mouth of the boy laying on the ground. A cannon blasted, and it sounded near to him, though he knew that couldn't be possible. The words of Selwyn's mentor rang in his ears. 'Your sponsors depend on your personality. Play the game, not only strategically, but find a way to convince the crowd that you're worth it. The gifts will come, but only at the right time.' He knew that the first kill of the game would bring at least one gift soon. He decided not to linger on the thought, however, as he sprinted away, looking for shelter for the night.

After finding a decent area to hide by the waterfall, Foxglove notice the gash was wider than she thought and blood was seeping out of it. She cleaned it off, put some of the seemingly useless (and actually more painful) disinfectant on it and gauze. At least she won't leave a blood trail. Now she tried to recollect what little words Fox payed attention to her mentor. Find water, which was easy since she was in a rainforest; remain unseen, that was her plan anyway; and, what was that other thing? Fox decided to let the thought go. Maybe she would remember later. Until then, she decided it would be best to scout around the area and see if one, anyone else was near, and two, if anything dangerous or helpful was in this arena.

Selwyn scaled up a tree, when he noticed a waterfall. He swung from each tree, quickly, and stealthily. He was good at moving when above the ground. He had many a-time gone to sneak in the lab, and usually scaled the ceiling. He noticed a waterfall nearby and started to move cautiously towards it.

Something stopped Fox in her tracks. She quickly jumped behind a tree, gripping her knife. She heard the rustling again. Was there some sort of animal in these trees? Maybe even mutts? She looked up, and saw a tribute in a nearby tree. That was pretty impressive to Fox. She couldn't get five feet up a trunk without slipping down to the bottom. She was more used to the water, fishing with only an old knife that was apparently from some side of her family in a lake near the orphanage. At first she had tried to throw the knives at the fish from above water, but she would miss every time because of the light distortion the water caused. It took her years to master throwing underwater. Mostly because the slightest movement would send fish to the opposite side of the small lake. But anyways, now was not the time to be impressed now was the time to be on guard.

((I don't even know if there was a lake, but the other districts aren't mentioned much anyways so I don't think it even matters.))

Selwyn stopped dead in his tracks. A girl tribute below had spotted him. He knew that he was obviously not cautious enough when moving through the trees. Selwyn remembered a few years back, when a young girl, Rue, had been extremely skilled at moving through trees. He thought he could be like her, but he was much older than she had been, so obviously he wasn't as light. Selwyn suddenly thought about what the Capitol would make him into if he died now. He quickly vanquished the thought from his mind and readied his weapons behind his back.

((For reasons not allowed to be told to you this is going to be the 55th Hunger Games. I was going to say "Let the 55th Hunger Games begin!" but I forgotted xD))

Foxglove thought about throwing her knife, finishing him off right away, but that's when she remembered that one piece of advice she forgot. Make an alliance. OK, so maybe killing him off wouldn't be the best strategy. She decided to let him make the first move. Maybe even get him to come down if she could. "How's the weather up there?" She said casually, after being sure that he saw her. She considered putting the knife away, but she had to keep her guard up. Even if it was just in case other tributes saw her.

"Pretty good!" Selwyn called down. He took caution but decided that perhaps she wanted to make an alliance. "How've you been faring?" he called down, just as casual as her first question.

(we should like... make a 2nd one if this one takes off, then it can be like, farther in the future, at maybe a Quarter Quell?)

((Of course I'll make a second one! ^^))

"Fine. Got a bit of a scratch, though." Of course that wasn't true. The gauze on her arm was already stained red, obviously something much more than just a scratch.

"At least you have something to cover it with" Selwyn said, jumping down one single branch. "I get hurt, I could die of blood loss. I didn't want to get caught in the mess with some of the Careers from the first few districts."

"I'd suggest that we run. There's a Career who isn't good at cloaking his steps about 50 yards away." Selwyn said, hopping out of the tree, grabbing the girl's arm and running off deeper, opposite the direction of the Career.

[center]Fox followed suit, then remembered the waterfall. She shook free from his grasp and ran back to it. She took a second to see how deep it was and jumped off, hoping he would follow.

One second. That's how long it took. She had flattened herself out, so her stomach took most of the impact. This slowed her down, and she barely missed her head cracking open. Water surged around her, and it took her awhile to resurface. Hopefully her new ally would understand what she was doing and follow suit.

Selwyn immediately saw what the girl had in mind for him. Selwyn was deathly afraid of swimming. He closed his eyes, for a millisecond, his memories rushing forward, but he decided it would be better than dying, and he jumped quickly into the water, he was slammed down by the rush of the water, and red started seeping from a slight crack gash in his forehead. His eyes opened, and he resurfaced, but couldn't remain conscious for much longer.

Fox covered his wound with one hand and pulled him down with the other. 1 minute; that's all she needed. The career would be long gone by then, sure that we would drown soon. After that, she would pull him back up and wrap gauze around his head. A person can stay under for 3 times that long. If he would let her keep them both down for one minute.

Selwyn was just barely conscious. He couldn't see through his own blood. Blood....! This would surely convince the Career that they were dead. If he could just hold on for a minute. He'd be long gone by then.

Blood still seeped out of her fingers. It may add affect, but it will also attract more attention. 30 seconds. 45. She counted every last second. Was he gone? 10 more seconds. 30. He may soon thing she's drowning him. She peeks up, and when she see that he's gone, pulls him up onto shore. "You OK?" She asks him, getting out gauze.
